Everyone Has Something to Deliver!

Looking for a way to give back in your local community and actually see the difference you're making?

Delivering with Meals on Wheels is one of the most rewarding experiences a person could have. Just ask one of our outstanding volunteers. They will tell you that when you help with Meals on Wheels, you're helping delivery more than just a meal -- you're bringing hope to someone who needs it.

ECMOW Outstanding Volunteer Awards

At the annual East Cooper Meals on Wheels Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, we announce the Walter Notton Award for Superior Volunteer Service Award (a.k.a. Volunteer of the Year.) The selection process is never easy because we are blessed with so many outstanding individuals who choose to share their time and talents with us. Nevertheless, we are charged to select one person who shines in all they do for our organization.

The choice for this year's special awardee is Merv Horner. Merv delivers three days each week and helps out in many ways, too. In addition to his regular delivery routes, Merv often helps by delivering Blue Apron Meals, one of our new programs that serves individuals in outpatient treatment after transplants or surgery.

Merv graciously takes guests along on his routes -- corporate guest volunteers, media and elected officials -- and always does a super job representing our organization. He believes in Meals on Wheels and genuinely works to help others understand what we do.

Truly, we would not be successful without the daily efforts by our volunteers.

To Merv and all of his Meals on Wheels peers, we say THANK YOU!!!
